Novel Drug Delivery Systems
Prof. Sathish Dyawanapelly · Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai
About
This course will provide the understanding of design, development and evaluation of various Novel Drug Delivery Systems (NDDS) includes, nanocarriers (polymeric, lipid, metal), controlled drug delivery systems, targeted delivery, mucosal delivery, implantable delivery, transdermal delivery, gastro-retentive delivery, intranasal, pulmonary, ocular, intrauterine delivery system for delivery of drugs and biological molecules such as DNA, siRNA, proteins and peptides. It also covers the scalability and regulatory perspective of NDDS. The NDDS course is designed based on the B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy syllabi approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), which are adopted uniformly by all pharmacy institutions and Universities throughout India. All other learners who want to learn the basics of targeted drug delivery and nanopharmaceuticals can gain vital benefits from this course.
Course Outcome:
By the end of the course, you should be able to………
1. Understand various approaches for the development of Novel Drug Delivery Systems
2. Describe the criteria for selection of drugs and inactive ingredients for designing NDDS
3. Appreciate the formulation, evaluation, and applications of various NDDS
Intended audience: B. Pharmacy, B. Tech Pharmacy, M Pharmacy, M. Tech Pharmaceutical Technology, M. Tech Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and PhD in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology, faculty members of all pharmacy disciplines.
