About

Heat Transfer is a fundamental course in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering. It finds wide range of applications in the area of space, nuclear reactors, energy, power generation, cryogenics etc. Fundamental concepts involving the three modes of heat transfer – conduction, convection and radiation – necessary to be able to formulate equations governing various heat transfer phenomena involved in a problem will be covered. Basic design of practical heat transfer devices such as heat exchanger, condenser etc. are also introduced.

Intended audience: BE/B.Tech.

Prerequisites: Completed UG course on Fluid mechanics or equivalent.
