About this episode

Mister Rogers shares a photo of himself and Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer Lynn Swann before showing some footage of Lynn playing football. Mister Rogers shares that Lynn has to be very strong both to play football and to dance ballet. Mister Rogers visits the neighborhood dance studio where he watches Mr. Davis teach a ballet lesson, remarking that he is like a coach for the ballet dancers. Lynn arrives to the studio and shows viewers the different parts of his football uniform and what they're for, including his helmet, jersey, shoulder pads, tights, and cleats. Lynn then changes into his ballet shoes and shares that he started dancing ballet in the 4th grade, before he even started playing football!

Lynn leads Mister Rogers through ballet warm-ups, and they discuss how many athletes warm up in similar ways for their sports. Mister Rogers remarks that ballet really is a sport as well as an art. Lynn and his dance partner Laura Broach perform a pas de deux and discuss how any sport takes a lot of practice, hard work, and dedication.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Aberlin is excited to share her drawing for the "Draw the Neighborhood Contest" while King Friday is worried about the weather forecast for the award ceremony. Lady Aberlin performs a dance for the King and Queen, joined by Bob Dog and Lynn Swann. Bob Dog and Lynn share that they are feeling sad after losing their football game even though they did their best. King Friday shares that as long as you've done your best, you're a winner to him; the "prize" is the good feeling of having done well. Lady Aberlin then visits the neighborhood schoolhouse to pick up the drawing entries from Prince Tuesday, Ana Platypus, and Daniel Striped Tiger. After Daniel shares that he feels his drawing isn't very good, Harriett Elizabeth Cow and the students discuss that some things that may be easy for one person, may be difficult for another, and that everyone has something special about them.
