今回の旅の舞台は、関東平野の肥沃な土壌で多種多様な果物や野菜が獲れる栃木県宇都宮市。柏原さんがまず向かったのは、朝獲れの新鮮野菜が並ぶ直売店「畑市場(はるいちば)」。
年間を通して80種類以上の野菜が並ぶ店内で、柏原さんが特別に試食させてもらったのが旬を迎えた「丸オクラ」。柏原さんも初体験の"生"のままで食べるオクラの味とは？
旅の最終目的地は、「料理界のダ・ヴィンチ」と呼ばれた伝説のシェフ、アラン・シャペルに学んだシェフが創業したフレンチの名店「オトワレストラン」。アラン・シャペルの信念と同様に地元の野菜を使うことにこだわったシェフが織りなすコース名は「継承」。親子2代で受け継ぐフレンチの名店のメニューとは？
