About
The Library created the Copyright Public Modernization Committee (CPMC) in 2021 at congressional request to enhance communication and provide a public forum for the technology-related aspects of the U.S. Copyright Office’s modernization initiative. The goal of the committee is to expand and enhance communication with external stakeholders on IT modernization of Copyright Office systems, and to provide a bi-annual public forum for sharing information and answering questions related to this initiative through fiscal 2024. The library’s Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Copyright Office hosted the first meeting of the CPMC in July 2021. This meeting is the sixth bi-annual meeting of the committee. The virtual event is jointly hosted by OCIO and the Copyright Office as an open public forum. Following a welcome from the CIO and Register of Copyrights, the committee and public attendees are provided with an update on Copyright IT modernization progress. Committee members participate in a moderated discussion with OCIO and Copyright subject matter experts.
