About
The Rosenwald Collection at the Library of Congress contains one of the finest surviving volumes of printing by William Caxton (ca. 1420 – 1491), the first printer in England. Not long after the Rosenwald Sammelband arrived at the Library of Congress, scholar and book historian Paul Needham discovered within the volume fragments of an unrecorded Caxton indulgence preserved as binder’s waste.
