About
As a part of the Eastern European Voices project, the Library’s Irene Madrigal interviews filmmaker Sławomir Grünberg about his documentary “Saved by Deportation.” Grünberg’s film shares the journey of one family — the Scharfs — from the U.S. back to a number of places they lived after being spared from death in Stalinist work camps when they were deported. Grünberg received funding from an NEH grant that supported the creation of this documentary.
