About
On 9/11, Paul worked on the television show, "Law and Order" doing theatrical lighting. The following day he joined some colleagues from his union who were going in to volunteer. They were assigned to illuminate the area, just as they do for a movie set. When workers needed a break from the bucket brigade, Paul would jump in and take their place. He recalls picking through the rubble with his bare hands, and passing the buckets back and forth. The area beneath where they were standing was hollow and there were many opportunities for workers to get hurt. The work took a physical and emotional toll on Paul. He has breathing and sinus problems, and becomes very upset when he talks about or recalls his experience. He was advised by a psychiatrist to confront the issue. Paul also states that God tells us to forgive, but he has a hard time forgiving Osama bin Laden. If he could give his life to bring back all those who died, he would.
