About

The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress challenged musical artists to interpret material from its unparalleled archive of ethnographic recordings of traditional folk music. Artists were asked to put their own spin on these archival treasures, and to perform them at a special showcase during the Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City, Missouri in 2022. This video features singer and guitarist Elly Wininger from Woodstock, New York, performing the song "Devil Got My Woman" from a recording of a live performance by singer and guitarist Nehemiah "Skip" James at the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island, in 1966. From the Alan Lomax collection, AFC 2004/004: N8R14.

Human-made No record of this work says a model made it. What this means.
