About

The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress challenged musical artists to interpret material from its unparalleled archive of ethnographic recordings of traditional folk music. Artists were asked to put their own spin on these archival treasures, and to perform them at a special showcase during the Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City, Missouri in 2022. This video features Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Alice Howe performing the song "Wild Mountain Thyme" from an American Folklife Center Homegrown Concert video of Francis McPeake III and IV. From the Library of Congress, 2007, Francis McPeake Family Concert Collection, AFC 2007/013, and the Pete and Toshi Seeger Film Collection, AFC 2003/027.
