About
Memphis-based singer-songwriter Doug McLeod performing the song “Catfish Blues” from a recording of Honeyboy Edwards at the Archive of Folk Song 50th Anniversary Concert in the Coolidge Auditorium at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC in 1978. Archive of Folk Song: a 50th anniversary celebration, 1978 November 16 collection, AFC 1978/030: AFS 20103). The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress challenged musical artists to interpret material from its unparalleled archive of ethnographic recordings of traditional folk music. Artists were asked to put their own spin on these archival treasures, and to perform them at a special showcase during the Folk Alliance International conference in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2020. The showcase was recorded for this webcast.
