About
Join us for a conversation with the Netherlands Chamber Choir. The choir is known not only for impeccable performances of traditional repertoire, but for pathbreaking projects that expand the boundaries of the choral literature. This conversation focusses on the choir's multidisciplinary presentation of Orlando di Lasso's 1594 "Lagrime di San Pietro" (Tears of St. Peter), part of the 2021-2022 Concerts from the Library of Congress series. In this visionary project, Visser and choreographer Nanine Linning paired a masterwork of Renaissance polyphony with contemporary dance, creating a role for Marijn Rademaker as St. Peter. Another topic is the choir's recent music theater production, Vergeten (Forgotten), which portrays the struggle of a doctor facing the onset of dementia. Tido Visser also articulates his vision for developing and directing projects for the choir that underline the power of music to foster reconciliation and social harmony.
