About
Mummers plays are short dramatic performances traditionally done around the winter holidays. They usually involve the death of a hero and the hero's resurrection by a doctor. Every year since 2009, the staff of the American Folklife Center have performed a mummers play in the halls of the Library of Congress, based on texts in their archival collection--with many contemporary touches. In this year's play, a hacker shuts down the North Pole gift distribution network, which also traps the board of trustees in a Zoom meeting until the end of time! Will Thomas Jefferson and James Madison keep the board from total panic? Will Cyber St. George prevail? Will Doctor Virtue save the day? Will Father Christmas be fired? Find out in "St. George and the Hacker: a Zoom Meeting Mummers Play!"
