About
Join us for a conversation with Peter Jarůšek, cellist of the Pavel Haas Quartet, and pianist Boris Giltburg. The conversation focuses on a masterwork of the chamber repertoire, the Quintet for piano and strings in F minor, op. 34, the manuscript of which is held at the Library of Congress. They also discuss Bedřich Smetana's harrowing, visionary String Quartet no. 2 in D minor, T.131, which prefigures late works by Janáček, Bartók and others, and look at the Pavel Haas's fruitful chamber music partnership with Giltburg, flourishing since 2014.
