About
Pianist Sandro Ivo Bartoli celebrates the legacy of Ferruccio Busoni for what would have been his 150th birthday in a program that explores some of his major contributions to composition and transcription. Two classic works are featured: Busoni's transcription of Bach's Chaconne, and Busoni's monumental "Fantasia contrappuntistica." Rounding out the program are beautiful works by Liszt, including the Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen "Praludium nach Johann Sebastian Bach," the manuscript of which is held at the Library of Congress.
