About

Award-winning author Barb Rosenstock discussed her book "Discover the Deep," the true story about the bathysphere, a spherical deep-sea submersible built by engineer Otis Barton and explorer Will Beebe, which was unpowered and lowered into the ocean on a cable. She described her writing and her research, and why the book is dedicated to Constance (Connie) Carter, former head of Science Reference at the Library. Carter spoke about her own interactions with Will Beebe and her role in the research for the book.
