About

A stellar array of artist prints opens the door to understanding the creative choices made while producing fine art etchings, lithographs and woodcuts from the mid-20th to the 21st centuries. In this overview and three subsequent parts, artist and master printer Phil Sanders displays items selected from the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop Collection at the Library of Congress. While discussing the Workshop's history and the impact of its collaborative and inclusive environment, Sanders also describes a variety of special printmaking techniques. This overview has highlights from Sanders' full conversation with the Library's fine prints curator Katherine Blood.
