About
In 2009, an archivist at the Library of Congress working to catalog a gift collection discovered a rolled up, brittle drawing on the blank sides of patched-together pieces of mail that, after much research, was determined to be one of the earliest drawings by the Mexican-born, self-taught artist, Martin Ramirez (1895-1963). This lecture recounted the challenges, discoveries, and further questions stemming from Ramirez's drawing's conservation treatment.
Human-made No record of this work says a model made it. What this means.
