About
Patricia recalls her history of work in New York City's domestic work industry. She talks about what she brought to the position from her life in Trinidad and Tobago. She discusses the important role that NYC's community of domestic workers played as she navigated the industry; and how she became a leader of domestic workers through the lobbying organization Domestic Workers United. She also gives a detailed account of a physical assault she suffered while working as a nanny for a family in Manhattan. The interview was conducted by Christine Lewis, who is also a domestic worker. The interview was filmed, guided, and recorded by folklorists Eileen Condon and Christopher Mulé.
