The Christians is a meticulously constructed, lavishly produced 13 part documentary series from 1977, hosted by Bamber Gascoigne, that explores the history and evolution of Christianity over two thousand years. There is an Introduction to the series by Bamber Gascoigne before the series starts. There is a quick guide to some early depictions of Christ in Art - as well as some of the various styles of crosses seen over the ages - after the conclusion of the 13 part series. Each episode covers significant events and developments in Christianity, from its origins to modern times.
