About

Cosmos: A Personal Voyage ★ Collected PBS Science Series - now with multiple subtitles - a companion book - and also with MKV formatted videos! . _ .

I found new Source DVDs for Cosmos [Episodes 1 - 13] on the Archive at https://archive.org/details/cosmos-iso .

And I found the RARE 14th Episode on the Archive at https://archive.org/details/cosmos.-s-01-e-14.-extra.-a.-conversation.-with.-carl.-sagan.and.-ted.-turner.-vhsrip.x-264 ... and I was interested enough to bring them over to my little collection, and merge them onto this page: for a complete set.

Then I found 10 Subtitle Sets for this Series - archived 9 years ago in The Wayback Machine - at least 7 Sets of which: seem to be good. I believe that by adding subtitles to videos, that did not have them before, these new videos can rightly be considered "Derivative Works": that I have improved from the original works. I'm just glad to see these again - it doesn't matter that they are over 45 years old, to me - they are still beloved!!!

These low resolution videos are uploaded under "Fair Use" Copyright provisions: for historical, and archival, purposes ONLY. If you like this video: I encourage you to purchase the 4K high resolution re-release on Blu-ray because these blurry videos cannot hold a candle to those 4K re-mastered versions. I believe you should own the Blu-ray version of this: because it has a far better quality than what is presented here.

If you like shows like this: you are highly encouraged to donate to your local PBS affiliate - now, more than ever, they need your help.

(See, you CAN give back something ... )

The Archive is providing the hosting for these videos: and they need your financial support also. If the Archive goes away - so do these lessons … so you are urged to ALSO support The Archive - in order to keep these lessons available.

NEW!!! As of October of 2025 … this series is available for the iPod Classic, Here: https://archive.org/details/iPod-Cosmos-1980 - complete with subtitles - thanks to user iPodFormattedVideos! They have been scaled to fit the iPod Classic's Screen! If you have an iPod Classic … you may download the entire series for it, HERE (1.9 GB): https://archive.org/compress/iPod-Cosmos-1980/formats=MPEG4&file=/iPod-Cosmos-1980.zip

Maybe this sort of thing might interest you, also?

I just love these old science series - growing up with these sorts of things inspired me for life. I became a scientist in due time - which eventually led to me collecting telecourses from educational cable channels - then one happy day I decided to dump my treasure and run away free. Some how - this collection coalesced from that mess: and now I can spread the infection on … to YOU. May you always be curious to learn more …

My Thanks to Users: DocumentaryDiskImages and SkinnyV (Vince) for finding, and saving, these 40 year old videos on the Archive ... special thanks to SkinnyV for Archiving the Rare (Lost?) VHS Interview with Carl Sagan - Excellent Work!!
