About
Body Flex: Instructional Tape is the foundational instructional video for the Body Flex system, running approximately 40 minutes and one second. The program opens with a medical disclaimer contraindicating use during pregnancy, uncontrolled high blood pressure, and glaucoma, followed by citations from the U.S. Olympic Training Committee, Nobel Prize-winning cell physiologist Dr. Otto Warburg, and others supporting deep breathing as central to fitness and disease prevention.
The host presents Body Flex as a system of diaphragmatic aerobic breathing combined with held body positions to direct oxygenated blood to specific problem areas, drawing on the principle that stress applied to a body part increases blood flow there. She describes her own background as a mother of three who was told by physicians that a flat stomach was impossible, and frames the program as requiring no gym, no diet, and no special equipment. The toe pull stretch, learned from a Houston ballet company, is demonstrated mid-program.
