About

On January 23, 1909, a dramatic story unfolds as two ships-- the "Florida" carrying Italian immigrants to New York and the other, the "SS Republic" carrying American tourists to Europe-- collided in the dense fog off Nantucket Island. In a moment, more than 1500 lives became dependent on a new technology, wireless telegraphy, and its 26-year old wireless operator, Jack Binns. Includes archival footage as well as interviews with descendants of passengers and crew.
