Episode #428 - Kyle Thompson // Freedom or Slavery
We finish our two-week journey through Homer’s The Odyssey by confronting the suitors’ slaughter and the dangerous way Odysseus blends justice with personal revenge. We put that moment under the light of Scripture and challenge ourselves to tear up the debt ledger so we can walk in the freedom Christ bought for us. • closing the Odyssey arc with the bow challenge and Odysseus’ reveal • why Odysseus’ “heaven’s judgment” framing crosses into vengeance • Deuteronomy 32 and Romans 12:19 drawing a hard line on payback • the honor code impulse to become our own executioner • identifying our personal “suitor hall” and the names we keep score against • building the debt ledger honestly without denying the harm • laying the ledger at the feet of the King and canceling the debt • choosing freedom over the prison of resentment Before you go, if you want to help equip other men for the fight, share this podcast around and leave us a five star rating and review.

Shows are listed from Apple Podcasts' charts and directory, and Podcast Index where it is used. Every show and episode belongs to its publisher and plays from the publisher's own feed; this site hosts none of them. Explicit shows are for adult profiles only, and children’s profiles hear only children’s shows. More about this list.
