Episode CANADIAN DEMOCRACY AT RISK, ONTARIO GROUNDS FORD GRAVY PLANE, SMITH DANGEROUS MOVES IN AB
This weekend, the people of Ontario showed us the power of collective action by standing up against Premier Ford's outrageous $30 million Gravy Plane. With the #FightFord protests set for April 25, it's clear that citizens are fed up and ready to demand accountability. In Alberta, Premier Danielle Smith is attempting to manipulate electoral ridings for her own gain, highlighting a critical moment for all Canadians: we must unite to protect our democracy from those who seek to consolidate power for their own interests.
Now, more than ever, we need to heed the warnings of Prime Minister Carney about the dangers posed by Trump’s escalating trade war. We must prepare for a future where we might have to navigate without our largest trading partner. But what can we truly do about it? How can we ensure our leaders at all levels are held accountable during these trying times?
Join us for an enlightening conversation with Peter MacLeod, the author of **Democracy's Second Act**, alongside host Laura Babcock. Together, we'll explore how we can draw lessons from countries like Finland, Sweden, and Hungary to fortify our democratic values right here at home.
