前回から徳川本家「16代」の徳川家達を紹介していますが、彼はプライベートでは明治天皇が「宅飲み」に来てくれる栄誉に浴することができました。これは徳川家にとって261年ぶりのことでした。そして、妻は天皇家の血をひく近衛家から迎え、その妻との間には息子が誕生。男系で徳川家、女系では天皇家に連なる公武合体の徳川家継承者が誕生したのでした。
