    2.7: About the Quote

Agatha Christie (1890–1976) was an English writer primarily known for her detective fiction and was the creator of the fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Jane Marple. Her play The Mousetrap is the world’s longest running play, and she is the best-selling fiction author of all time. She was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions to literature. The quote at the beginning of the chapter is taken from the book The Mysterious Affair at Styles. See Figure \(\PageIndex{1}\).
