    3.5.6: Verbal Order

Verbal orders are orders that are given verbally by the provider during an emergency. During an emergency, it would be irrational for the MA to expect the provider to physically write or enter an order for a drug to be administered while the patient was suffering potentially life-threatening events. It is important for the MA to repeat the order and wait for verbal verification from the provider before administering the drug. The order and the administration of the drug must be documented as soon as possible once the patient is stable.
