    4.1: Un primo passo

    Che bella famiglia!

Every family is different, and so is the language we use to describe it!
In this first step, you’ll learn key vocabulary about family members, relationships, and professions, from madre and fratello to convivente, separato, and single. You’ll also meet words for pets and jobs, so you can talk about the people (and animals!) who are part of your world.

A family of four sits on a couch, smiling and wearing festive party hats, with decorative lights in the background.

This section gives you the building blocks you’ll need for the next steps, where you’ll start using these words in context to describe your own family, talk about work and daily life, and explore how Italians think and talk about relationships today.
