    Rafa se siente viejo para estar todavía en la universidad, pero cuando recuerda lo que trabajó para llegar a este momento, aprecia más su camino.

    Nació y se crió en Tijuana donde terminó los estudios de preparatoria (es “high school” en México). A los dieciocho años, entró a clases de inglés como segunda lengua (ESL) en los Estados Unidos. Aprendió inglés y entró a San Diego City College para empezar sus estudios universitarios. Se graduó con honores y fue a UCSD donde estudió cultura popular y se graduó con honores otra vez. Se mudó a Los Ángeles donde recibió su maestría y terminó los estudios doctorales. Ahora hace investigación y escribe todos los días para terminar la tesis para el doctorado, pero son muchos años de estudio y se siente impaciente por terminar.
