    Es el 15 de abril de mil novecientos treinta y ocho. Hay un niño que se llama Pablo. Tiene un año y es su primer cumpleaños, pero su familia no va a celebrar mucho porque hay una guerra civil en España. Pablo no tiene hermanos en este momento, es hijo único. Pablo es de Vega de Valcarce, un pueblito pequeño en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León en España.

    Vega de Valcarce está cerca de la comunidad autónoma de Galicia, y por eso mucha gente allí es bilingüe; pueden hablar castellano y gallego. Hay cuatro lenguas predominantes en España: el castellano (que se conoce en todo el mundo como español), el catalán, el gallego, y euskera. Algunos opinan que el valenciano también es otra lengua.
