Pano.ai offers advanced wildfire detection technology that makes use of artificial intelligence and an alert system for notifying relevant public safety professionals.
The Pano Rapid Detect product is comprised of the following:
- Detection via the Pano Station. These stations consist of dual tower-mounted cameras that capture a 360 degree view of the environment every minute. The images are merged to create a panoramic view that is transmitted to the cloud. The station can be configured with power source options and data transmission options (details not provided).
- Confirmation. At the Pano Intelligence Center the images are examined and analyzed looking for signs of smoke. The fire detection methodology includes the use of artificial intelligence to operate in both daytime and nighttime. If two stations are essentially reporting on the same incident at the same time, the Pano system can use a patented algorithm ("triangulation technology") to ascertain the exact GPS position of the fire. The process includes humans to confirm the detection of a fire by the AI software. algorithms It is also possible to overlay utility infrastructure maps to make the alerts for utility personnel more meaningful.
- Information dissemination/alerts. Upon confirmation of a fire detection, alerts (SMS, email) can be sent to a predefined set of public safety professionals, public utility personnel, and so forth. This includes information such as images of the fire and its location.
The system uses deep learning AI.
Pano AI charges around $50,000 per year per camera[2].
Customers include forestry operations, government agencies, and utilities.[2]
