The image shows a distant point of view of a cityscape along a horizontal line. The horizon is positioned at about one-third from the bottom of the image, with the skyline of a distant town dominated by church towers. A solitary sailboat is depicted nearby, on calm water. The painting features loose and impressionistic brushstrokes with light lines and gray shading, conveying the scene with minimal detail. The color palette is muted, with soft beige and gray tones creating a serene visual impact.
