The image shows a woodland scene with trees, a river, and foliage. The perspective is slightly elevated, offering a view of the forest floor and trees. The horizon is low in the composition. A river winds through the landscape, reflecting the surroundings. The artwork features detailed linework to depict textures of bark, leaves, and water, using cross-hatching for depth and shadows. The color palette is monochromatic, in sepia or black and white tones. A large tree with exposed roots is in the foreground, with more trees and dense foliage in the background.
