About this work

The so-called Beckumer Anschläge is a collection of funny stories about silly citizens of Beckum, Germany. In this caricature on a banknote of 1918, the most popular story of the collection is depicted. The attempt to remove the mud from the town marketplace well, eventually ended when all the men fell down to the muddy bottom. Size: 93 mm x 140 mm.
