About this episode
This week on Breaking Down Markets, CNBC Africa's Sally Sithole is joined by Makwe Masilela, Chief Investment Officer at Makwe Fund Manager, to explore the roles of financial analysts and fund managers, and what happens behind the scenes before investment decisions are made. Who researches investment opportunities? Who decides where money should be invested? And how do those decisions ultimately affect your investment portfolio? In this episode, we break down the investment process, explain the difference between financial, equity and investment analysts, and explore how fund managers use research and market insights to make informed investment decisions. Breaking Down Markets is the show where we bridge the gap between everyday investors and the world of financial markets, stripping away the jargon and making complex financial concepts simple, relevant and easy to understand.
