Xiji Islet in Southern Penghu Marine National Park is home to the famous Blue Cave, a naturally occurring sea cave carved by constant ocean erosion into a breathtaking marine landscape. Watch as Leo takes everyone up close to experience this stunning sight at sea. Then follow along to nearby Dongji Islet, also known as “Little Shanghai,” which once served as a key stop along the Qing government’s maritime trade routes. These iconic buildings in British, Malaysian and Baroque styles have played host to various residents and shops over the years, including an important Japanese military stronghold during World War II, where wartime relics can still be found to this day.
