સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં દુષ્કાળની સ્થિતિએ ખેડૂતોની મુશ્કેલીઓ વધારી દીધી છે. રાજ્યમાં પાણીની અછત વચ્ચે સૌરાષ્ટ્રના ચાર જિલ્લાઓને દુષ્કાળગ્રસ્ત જાહેર કરવામાં આવ્યા છે અને સરકારે સહાયની જાહેરાત પણ કરી છે. પરંતુ આ સંકટની અસર માત્ર ખેડૂતો સુધી સીમિત નથી રહી, હવે અબોલ પશુઓની હાલત પણ દયનીય બની રહી છે. ઘાસચારાના વધતા ભાવ, પાણીની અછત અને ખેતીમાં થયેલા નુકસાનને કારણે ખેડૂતો માટે પોતાના બળદોનું પેટ ભરવું મુશ્કેલ બની ગયું છે. જે બળદો વર્ષોથી તેમની આજીવિકાનો આધાર રહ્યા, એ જ બળદોને આજે ભારે હૈયે આશ્રયસ્થાનમાં મૂકવાની ફરજ પડી રહી છે. રાજકોટના કાલાવડ રોડ પર આવેલા સદ્ભાવના બળદ આશ્રમમાં છેલ્લા 20 દિવસમાં આશરે 6,000 બળદો સાથે ખેડૂતો પહોંચ્યા હોવાની માહિતી સામે આવી છે. આ દ્રશ્યો ખેડૂતોની લાચારી અને દુષ્કાળની ગંભીર અસર દર્શાવે છે.
The drought in Saurashtra has triggered a major fodder and water crisis, leaving livestock farmers struggling to care for their cattle. At the Sadbhavana Bull Shelter in Rajkot, the growing number of bulls has raised serious concerns about fodder supply, water arrangements and daily expenses. આશ્રમની શરૂઆત વર્ષ 2021માં આશરે 200 બળદો સાથે કરવામાં આવી હતી, જ્યારે હાલમાં અહીં લગભગ 8,000 બળદો હોવાનો અહેવાલ છે. આશ્રમના સંચાલકના જણાવ્યા અનુસાર, એક બળદને દરરોજ સરેરાશ 25 કિલો લીલા ઘાસની જરૂર પડે છે અને ઘાસચારા પાછળ દરરોજ આશરે 12 લાખ રૂપિયાનો ખર્ચ થાય છે. પાણીની જરૂરિયાત પૂરી કરવા માટે દરરોજ 8થી 10 ટેન્કર પણ મંગાવવામાં આવે છે. આશ્રમમાં 125 જેટલા કર્મચારીઓ સેવા આપી રહ્યા છે અને વધુ બળદોને આશ્રય આપવા માટે વ્યવસ્થાઓ કરવામાં આવી રહી છે. આ પરિસ્થિતિમાં ખેડૂતોની માંગ છે કે સરકાર ઘાસચારા અને પશુઓની સંભાળ માટે વધુ મદદ કરે. શું દુષ્કાળ વચ્ચે ખેડૂતો અને તેમના અબોલ સાથીઓને સમયસર પૂરતી રાહત મળશે? જાણો સૌરાષ્ટ્રના આ ગંભીર સંકટની સંપૂર્ણ હકીકત આ અહેવાલમાં.
