About The Episode With vintage influences and a fresh, genre-blurring sound, Myers makes a commanding entrance with “Two Trains,” a fiery opener showcasing his guitar skills amplified by his tight 10-piece band, featuring a horn section, steel guitar, keys and backing vocalists. He delivers a deeply personal highlight with “Stay,” a song he shares he wrote in his bedroom while dreaming of one day performing it on the ACL stage. Now living that dream, Myers invites the audience along as the crowd joins in on the chorus. The young artist’s deep reverence for country music’s roots comes full circle in the closing number. After paying tribute to his hero Willie Nelson with his 2026 covers album Two Braids & The Truth, Myers closes the hour with a scorching rendition of “Whiskey River”—the iconic song Willie performed to open his Austin City Limits debut on the series’ landmark 1974 pilot. More than five decades later, the song connects two generations of Texas artists on the ACL stage.
Austin City Limits The longest-running music series in television history, Austin City Limits has showcased legends and innovators across every genre of popular music for more than five decades and has earned countless accolades, including a Peabody Award, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame designation and the National Medal of Arts – the only television series ever to receive the honor. Produced by Austin PBS, the series has become an institution that helped secure Austin’s reputation as the "Live Music Capital of the World"
