About
Unknown Chaplin: 3 -- Hidden Treasure, Reel 2
Reel 1 available here
Third in a trilogy documenting the results of film archivists / directors Kevin Brownlow and David Gill in uncovering heretofore unknown Charlie Chaplin film footage--rushes, outtakes, abandoned films, and home movies. Chaplin's production notes and interivews with his players help to re-create his pioneering methods and creative process in making classic silent films. This program includes sequences cut from "City Lights" and "Modern Times", as well as a scene of Chaplin performing his dance of the rolls from "The Gold Rush" at a New York party in 1926.
