Top Gun (1986) First Paramount Home Video Release 1987 with Diet Pepsi Ad
This movie has always remind me of “The Lords of Discipline” (1983) combined with “Full Metal Jacket” (1987).
Opening scene on an Airbase southeast of the Atlantic and English Channel in the East Ocean. Near to the credits ending features the popular hit song by Grammy Award Winning artist Kenny Loggins, “Danger Zone”.
I have completely forgot about this one of a kind classic from 1986 with the multiple uploads of all these other genre videos.
Compared to other Paramount Home Videos purchased for twice as much at retail, like some of my original Paramount Pictures (Home Video) Gatefold (Clamshell) Style Boxed movies purchased from the early to mid 1980s $79.99, this video was bought back in March of '87 and was the original VHS release and costs only $26.95 in local video stores and actually sold over 2.9 million copies.
This video featured an exciting $8 Million DIET PEPSI Ad Campaign before the start of the movie's opening title and credits. This movie was released to the home video market on Paramount's 75th Anniversary.
