About

Steambath is an American sitcom on Showtime that presented the afterlife as a steam bath. It was adapted from the controversial Off-Broadway play by Bruce Jay Friedman and featured three cast members and the director from the legendary 1973 PBS TV adaptation.

The rips of this rarely-seen series were provided by stevecho. A behind the scenes featurette, which includes a deleted scene from the first episode, was uploaded to YouTube by Magnetic Tape Head. Also included is the slightly-edited version of the PBS special. To the best of my knowledge, the uncut version was never issued on home media, nor has it surfaced in fandom (it debuted a couple of years before VCRs were marketed to consumers).
