About
U.S. Court of Appeals - 22503-1-DVD - Specter, et al v. Garrett, et al - The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania heard oral arguments in the case Sen. Arlen Specter, et al v. H. Lawrence Garrett, et al. The case involved a naval shipyard in Philadelphia that was slated for closure as part of the numerous military base reductions of the Department of Defense. Sen. Arlen Specter and several other plaintiffs brought suit to keep the shipyard open, while Secretary of the Navy H. Lawrence Garrett and several other defendants argued the shipyard should be closed. Several weeks following the oral arguments, the judge issued a decision allowing the closure of the naval shipyard. Filmed by C-SPAN. Non-commercial use only.
