About
Produced by NET
In the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital, mental patients are rehabilitated by first receiving "tokens" as rewards, then by making a transition from token use to sheltered workshop training, and finally by working outside the hospital. Patients in the last phase operate their own gas station and renovate houses in which groups of four or five will be living after their release. An ex-patient acts as adviser for those about to move into their "new" house. From the To Save Tomorrow series
