About

It's pretty nice making a post that coincides with a new project in the franchise. This sequel is no exception to this.

"The Equalizer 2" is a sequel to the 2014 film "The Equalizer", which was based on the 1985 television series of the same name. It was directed by Antoine Fuqua and starred Denzel Washington (who also served as a producer), Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman, Melissa Leo, and Orson Bean (in his final film role).

This is the fourth collaboration between Washington and Fuqua. Besides the previous film, they also worked together on 2001's "Training Day" and the 2016 remake of "The Magnificent Seven". This was also the first time Washington appeared in a sequel to a film he previously starred in.

The movie received mixed reviews from critics, but like its predecessor, it was also a box office success, grossing $190 million on a budget between $62 million and $79 million. This film would later be followed by "The Equalizer 3" in 2023.
