About
"Dinosaur" is the 39th animated film by Walt Disney Animation Studios, and the first to be computer-animated.
It was directed by Ralph Zondag and Eric Leighton, and starred the voices of D.B. Sweeney, Alfre Woodard, Ossie Davis, Max Casella, Hayden Panettiere, Samuel E. Wright, Julianna Margulies, Peter Siragusa, Joan Plowright, and Della Reese.
The movie blended CGI animation with live-action backgrounds filmed on location. It also marks the first time James Newton Howard worked on the music score for Disney's animation studio. He would later work on "Atlantis: The Lost Empire", "Treasure Planet", and "Raya And The Last Dragon".
The movie received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the opening sequence, animation, and music score, but criticized the story for being too similar to "The Land Before Time". However, it was a box office success, grossing $349 million against a $127 million budget.
