About

Macintosh—The Design Solution: Engineering & Architecture

Host: Creighton Nolte

(Apple Computer, Inc., 1992)

Running Time: 45 Minutes

Whether you’re a design engineer or an architect, you’ll discover that the Macintosh is a serious and versatile business machine for everything from design and drafting, 3-D visualizations, to marketing and managing your office.

In this video, Creighton Nolte—a computer consultant and expert in design solutions—will introduce you to fellow professionals who use Macintosh computers to make every phase of their work life easier.

You’ll meet world-renowned airplane designers Burt Rutan and John Roncz who have revolutionized flying with record-breaking designs like the Boyager, which circled the globe on a single tank of fuel. And you’ll see how they harness the high speed processing and graphics capabilities of the Macintosh to do wireframe and solid modeling, engineering calculations, program planning and more.

You’ll also meet the multi-faceted architectural firm Black & Veatch, who use the Macintosh for every stage of design work, from schematics through construction documents. Macintosh has changed the way they communicate with their clients. They can easily design and visualize 3-D perspectives and show their clients multiple views of the building, inside and out.

Finally, in “A Closer Look”, Creighton will demonstrate a variety of creative and time saving programs for designers using the Macintosh.
