About
Introduces the work of perceptual psychologist J J Gibson, the first to conclude that information of some sort must be generated by visual stimulation in order to form a perception of the visual world. Uses the practical problem of landing an aircraft to discuss perceptualcues used to infer distance, height and speed.
Illustrates the successful treatment of a 24-year-old self-abusive man by the effective use of behavior therapy. The therapist, Dr. Richard M. Foxx, narrates his treatment step by step, and overprinted time intervals set the chronology of the two-day program.
