Leadership Lessons from Recent U.S. Presidents
Michael Siegel, senior education specialist at the FJC, describes leadership "lessons" from the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, and Bush, Sr. He uses the presidency as a model to illustrate four essential components of effective leadership: policy (vision), politics (strategy), structure (management), and process (decision-making). Joining Michael Siegel to discuss the application of these leadership lessons to challenges they face in the judiciary are court executives Betsy Paret, clerk (E.D. Va.) and Ted Johnson, chief of probation and pretrial services (W.D. Pa.). Mark Maggio of the FJC moderates the program.
