Your Roadmap to the Internet via the Bureau of Transportation Statistics
For Net novices, this video defines the Internet and encourages the viewer to discover online transportation data and information. Internet tools are explained in very simple terms: E-mail, File Transfer Protocol, Gopher, and the World Wide Web, illustrated by pages from transportation sites. Two Bureau of Transportation Statistics projects are featured: the SMART project for sharing state and local transportation reports and data sets, and geographic information services. A non-technical description of equipment and connection options for Internet access concludes the video.
